Submit Documents and Pictures

To preserve an accurate and objective history, nothing is so useful as actual documents created during the course of scientific work: letters, proposals for funding, reports, memos, etc.

If you have access to significant documents that are not published or widely available, they are welcome contributions. If you know of papers in a repository such as an office or archives, please submit the address for the benefit of future scholars. We also welcome photographs or other pictorial materials showing people, instruments, locations, or other subjects of historical interest.

Documents and pictures submitted in electronic form may (with the permission of the authors) be posted on the site for others to view. Information about the location of non-digital documents may also be posted. To the extent possible, we may scan highly significant documents and pictures for posting on this site.

Finally, we can assist with the placement of significant materials in archives or other permanent storage locations.

Electronic documents and pictures

To submit digitized documents, please email the site editor. Include the documents as email attachments and indicate their format. Please also indicate any access restrictions or copyright issues.

Non-electronic (paper, etc.) documents and pictures

To arrange for the submission or archiving of non-digitized documents and pictures, please email the site editor. Describe the materials (including their volume). Indicate their location, any access restrictions or copyright issues, and how and where you wish to arrange for their deposit.
